To prevent flooding, residents of Barangay 35 conducted a series of clean-up drive by cleaning the Rodriguez Avenue Creek.
INTRODUCTION
Barangay 35 was created in 1973 by the virtue of Presidential Decree No. 86 and 86-A stating that all Barrios and Poblacion in the Philippines will be change into Barangays. This was a significant day for the Barangay because with the decree. They were given status as the basic government until in the nations Political Structures.
In the same year, Honorable Carlos Benares requested an emergency citizen assembly purposely to appoint the corresponding Barangay Official thru Public Nominations. The first Barangay Captain was Mr. Eriberto Duatin, Sr. With six Appointed Barangay Council Members namely.

The council was appointed Alexander Koch as Barangay secretary, Placido Jaranilla as Barangay treasurer and Ma. Fe Saylongo as Barangay Clerk.
In the year 1982 President Ferdinand E. Marcos called an election for Barangay Captain and councilmen throughout the country. The result of such election for Barangay Officials in accordance with the votes garnered are as follows.

The Barangay 35 was first known as �Tambakan Alley� or dumped site area and it was converted into residential land and later in year 1987, in the virtue of Sangguniang Panlungsod Resolution No. 172 dated August 4, 1987, it was distributed to 600 families with perpetual occupancy by former City Mayor Amado �Rematche� Parreno, Jr.
Today, Barangay 35 is one of the most promising Barangay of 61 Barangays of Bacolod City. This has come to be under the able leadership of HONORABLE RAYMUNDO P. SAPA, SR. PUNONG BARANGAY and with the full cooperation of the members of the Barangay Council and also with the full support and cooperation of the Purok Official and other sectors and most of all the people of the Barangay.
The Barangay 35, today tagged with the most prestigious and modern cockpit arena in the whole Negros Occidental, The NEGROS COLISEUM located at the Reclamation Area covered by the land area of the Barangay 35.
The Barangay 35 produced one famous former MBA Basketball Player, Maui Huelar, Jr., of the Negros Slashers. Barangay 35 also produced prominent individuals that help our city such as former City budget Officer, Mr. Manfredo Monta�o and former PESO Manager, the late Mr. Renato Villarmia, Jr. Barangay 35 was also known as the �SLAUGHTER CAPITAL OF THE CITY�.
Last November 6, 2006 under the leadership, hardwork and full cooperation of Punong Barangay Raymudo P. Sapa, Sr. the BARANGAY 35 was declared as THE DRUG FREE BARANGAY in the whole Philippines and it was declared by PDDG Edgar Aglipay, Deputy Chief for Admin/AID-SOFT and it was duly honored by no less than her Excellency Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo. Punong Barangay RAYMUNDO P. SAPA SR, was given an appreciation and recognition as one of the OUTSTANDING PUNONG BARANGAY in the whole Philippines.

Barangay 35 is classified as an Urban Barangay. It is located in Western side of Alunan and Corazon, bounded on the south by Lupit River, Guimaras Strait and Rodriguez Bay-bay and bounded on the east by Barangay 36 and on the north by Barangay 16.
Land Area:
Barangay 35 formerly has 10 hectares land area but due to the reclaimed area another 1 hectare added, it is relatively plain in Topography. It is Classified as Urban Barangay. The land distribution is follows.

Barangay 35 is composed of 8 Puroks namely: MAGHILI-UGYON as the biggest purok, follows by the PUROK MALIPAYON, PUROK MAPINALAGA-ON, PUROK MAABI-ABIHON, PUROK MASINADYAHON, PUROK MAINABYANON, PUROK MAHINANGPANON AND PUROK MABINULIGON as the smallest Purok in our Barangay.
